Cherokee Garden

Cherokee Garden is a handcrafted jewelry business rooted in authentic Cherokee culture, history, and traditions. Every piece tells a story, connecting wearers to the language, symbols, and spirit of the Cherokee people. As a verified Native artisan through the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, I ensure that my work honors my heritage while combating cultural misrepresentation and theft.

From beaded necklaces inspired by the Four Directions to wild clay and turquoise earrings, each item is thoughtfully designed with traditional materials and techniques. Cherokee Garden isn’t just about jewelry—it’s about preserving and sharing the true story of our people. When you wear a piece from Cherokee Garden, you are wearing history, identity, and resilience.

Osiyo, Gehdi Wilson dawadoa. Hello, my name is Gehdi Wilson. I live in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, which is the home of the Cherokee Nation.

I create several products, including jewelry and home goods, that are connected to my Cherokee culture. I was lucky to grow up in the community where my tribe is headquartered. I’m surrounded by Cherokee culture and gather with those who ensure our culture and language continue to thrive. Like many other Native children, my grandmother had to attend boarding school, which existed to assimilate Native people into white society. She was not allowed to practice our culture or speak our language. We’re just now starting to recover from cultural genocide and are entering an era of resurgence. I believe it is my responsibility to learn everything I can and pass it on to the next generation.

“The most important thing is for my customers to know that what they buy from me is authentic and, to the best of my knowledge, represents true Cherokee culture”.
