At Nishnabé Spirit, we are all about supporting other Native businesses and entrepreneurs! We recently hired a website designer to help us get ready for launch and manage the site post launch. Jacob Jones (Potawatomi) is the owner of Iconik Innovations. He has been absolutely wonderful in figuring out the ins and outs of our website, fixing broken links, making sure emails end up in the right place, tweaking the design, and figuring out all the puzzle pieces i put together. You rock Jacob! It's a pleasure working with you!
If anyone needs a website built from scratch or help with an existing site, hit up Jacob at @iconikinnovation

As for as Nishnabé Spirit, stay turned. The site should be ready for a soft open the first or second week of May! We'll keep you updated. (If you have Native wares to sell, go ahead and sign up as a vendor. We are ready for you.)
We volunteered with Great Promise at the NAIS UT Spring Powwow last weekend to help raise funds for the Native American & Indigenous Student organization. It was a gorgeous day, filled with fantastic local vendors. The frybread was delicious, and the dancers were dressed to impress, bringing immense energy as always. Here are some pictures of the dancers. Artemisia captured even more with her camera. We'll be sharing those soon! Enjoy!
We had so much fun at RedEarth!
🌟 Come dive into the vibrant world of creativity with us as we reflect on the incredible moments at the Red Earth Festival! From traditional masterpieces to edgy graffiti-inspired works, our encounters were nothing short of inspiring. Be on the lookout over the next week as we spotlight the diverse talents we had the pleasure of meeting – from fine art connoisseurs to jewelry artisans and beyond. It's an honor to be surrounded by such a wealth of artistic brilliance! Don't forget to explore their pages and be captivated by their craft. ✨ #RedEarthFestival #RedEarth #ArtisticEncounters #CreativityUnleashed #nativeamerican #nativeownedbusiness #oklahoma #indigenous #nishnabe #nishnabespirit #potawatomi #buynative
Just watched a wonderful and uplifting Native American documentary about food sovereignty at the Ruiz library with some new friends. Thanks Doug @d_tlutlu and Skye for inviting me!
A good friend of mine took me to see a great movie last night: Lakota Nation vs. The United States. The creator did a wonderful job balancing the sometimes overwhelming history of post colonial Native American history with stories of activism and optimism. One interviewee even said that he believed the best days of the Lakota are ahead of us. I quite literally wanted to hug the man. The viewer is truly connected with the people and place, using great camera angles, nature shots, and music. I highly recommend the movie. Thanks again to my friend and the Austin Film Society for hosting the film.
At the Austin Powwow, set up and ready for a fun day!
We'll be at the Travis County Expo Center from 9am-9pm. Come on out and join us.

A special thanks to logoclothz.com for the gorgeous table covering.
